Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) is an international agricultural development NGO registered in Geneva, Switzerland. It was co-founded in 1986 by Nobel Laureate Dr. Norman Borlaug, Japanese philanthropist Ryoichi Sasakawa (Nippon Foundation), and former US President Jimmy Carter. Since then, SAA has worked with the Carter Center’s Global 2000 Program to establish Sasakawa Global 2000 (SG 2000) agricultural programs in 15 sub-Saharan countries.
