As an Archivist, my job purpose was to effectively manage records throughout the record management life cycle of capturing, archiving, retrieving and destruction with the following responsibilities; Receiving Records, Filing, Retrieving, sending feed, back Print and dispatch of statements and Sending Management information.

• Management of Development Professionalism: have an understanding of stakeholder consultation, action oriented research using the Visual Problem Appraisal and able to explore complex problems considering a multi-stakeholder system perspective. Also have a sound understanding of the diversity of rural livelihoods and intra-households’ dynamics, and associated mechanism of social exclusion using the sustainable livelihood framework and many others. • Concepts on Food Security: experienced in food security, diagnosing food and nutrition security using various tools and current trends. Also aware of food and nutrition security foundations and analysis, social protection and resilience, right to food, overview of gender concepts and principles, and markets assessment and analysis. • Rural Livelihoods and Food Security: able to apply the Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools to assess food security and livelihoods conditions and analyze the gender differential use/access/control of resources in rural livelihoods. • Natural Resource Management: understand competing claims and natural resource management thus able to assist in conflict transformation and can contribute meaningfully on competing claims and natural resource management, either in the policy process or in providing knowledge to the policy process. • Communication and Leadership: able to develop skills, attitude and insight in the aspects of leadership, personal effectiveness, management and group dynamics such as: Leading, directing, organizing, coaching, conflict management, problem solving or sharing. • Food Security Interventions and Strategies: able to undertake a response analysis in the field of food security, analyze current interventions, select, explain and design an appropriate (development) intervention leading to food security for a particular situation. • Value chains & Markets and Businesses for Food Security: able to conduct analysis of agri-food chains with a gender and a food security lens in order to enhance (economic) empowerment of vulnerable groups (women and rural landless and hungry people) in or through these chains. Equipped with tools for chain mapping, multi-stakeholder analysis, quantitative and qualitative chain analysis and critical gender issues in value chain development. Also skilled in formulation of business plans for sustainable businesses that have visible positive impact on food security with great understanding of aspects relating to regional economic development. • Organization and institution: able to analyze the performance of rural development organizations in a dynamic context, design processes of change from an inclusive perspective, towards improving local food security in a globalizing world. • Applied research and implementation: skilled in all elements of doing research from design, data collection by interviewing, data analysis, to the write-up of qualitative and quantitative research. My MSc thesis was on adaptation of small-scale farmers to climate change in Nyimba district.
