Job Description

We are looking for CHIEF AERODROMES INSPECTOR - ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING - KCAA SCALE 6

Bachelor

Full-Time


 A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering;  Be registered with the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)  Be registered by Engineers’ Registration Board of Kenya as a professional engineer  Have a Current valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB)(K)  Training in aerodromes inspectors course  Training in aerodrome certification course  Training in an aerodromes design and operations related field


 Identifying the section’s needs and implementing appropriate strategies to achieve planned goals.  Evaluating aerodromes electrical systems and conducting inspection of aerodrome electrical systems including runway, taxiway and apron lighting systems, approach landing systems including the precision approach path indicators, primary and secondary power supply systems and other lighting systems to ensure compliance with approved standards  Planning and conducting aerodrome inspection, audit and surveillance activities and carrying out other evaluations and tests.  Reviewing guidance material relevant to construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of aerodrome electrical systems for amendments and/or updating based on new or amended ICAO SARPs and Documents.  Evaluating operator manuals and procedures for approval/ acceptance.  Identifying and proposing skills and resource requirements for and taking corrective measures to achieve planned aerodrome oversight activities.  Preparing inspections/audit and surveillance reports for approval and reviewing inspection processes, forms, checklists and reporting mechanisms.  Liaising with other Aerodromes Inspectors as appropriate to ensure coordination of oversight activities.  Liaising with other units to implement, and where necessary proposing amendments and improvements in, standards and regulations.  Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Manager ANS and Aerodromes Standards.
