Job Description
We are looking for NURSING OFFICER II - 8 POSTS
Bachelor
Full-Time
Holder of Bsc. Degree in Nursing/Midwifery from a recognized lnstitution plus
successful completion of internship. Must be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and
Midwife~ Council
Assesses patient's condition, plan, implement, document and evaluate individualized
care using appropriate nursing model _and according to the hospital nursing policy.
Provides care according to patho-physiological process of diseases and scientific
rationales.
Orders drugs from pharmacy and ward equipment from stores
Ensures all drugs and other treatments are given to the patients as prescribed and observe
any adverse condition.
Maintains a professional friendly atmosphere and create a dignified environment.
Maintains Therapeutic relationships with patients, their relatives and visitors to enhance
the patient's quality oflife, dignity and the good standing of the hospital.
Ensures safe care and custody of patients' property in accordance with the hospital
policy.
Reports any accident/incident, loss or theft to the Senior Nursing Officer and complete
necessary statements promptly.
Maintains Health and Safety at work by ensuring that infection prevention and
control principles are followed
Carries out research on nursing services and implementing the results to improve
nursing services.
Adheres to the prescribed inpatients and outpatients' treatment manual and procedures
Critically analyzes nursing/midwifery care to determine appropriate interventions for
clients/patients.
Follows hospital policy in respect of custody and administration of all drugs, with
special observation to DDA drugs.
Supervises the provision of care and documentation by all health workers working
under his/her supervision
Supervises and train subordinates on patients' care and management of equipment and
supplies
Plans and allocate human and other resources as appropriate
Develops and maintains an updated Human Resource needs profile
Translates and implement health policies in nursing activities
Conducts clinical teaching to nurse/midwifery students rotating in your unit
Performs any other Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice as assigned by
his/her superiors from time-to time.
