Location: Tucson , AZ, United States
Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes surgical instruments. Maintains surgical supply inventory required by the Inpatient and Outpatient Operating Rooms and Anesthesia, PACU, and POHA units through utilization of the Materials Management information system and proper replenishment procedures.
Operates all sterilizing equipment following regulation directives.
Assembles and maintains specific surgical instruments utilized throughout the facility.
Inventories and reorders instruments and supplies.
Performs all required quality assurance tests on equipment and maintains daily records.
Maintains surgical supply inventory in operating room.
Documents supply usage and place orders. Restocks supply shelves.
Assists Surgery staff as needed. Informs supervisor of special needs.
Assists in the assessment of the department procedures. Assists in the selection of equipment, supplies, and other resources for departmental operation.
Certification Preferred: Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) and or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)
Preferred: Two (2) years experience dealing with ordering implants and supplies and inventory management.
