**_Characteristics of the Position_**
The Administrative Support shall have primary responsibility to support the administrative functions of the Department through the collection and analysis of data for statistical local, state and federal grant reports and maintaining accurate and thorough financial accounting.
**_Key Responsibilities and Duties_**
Plan, perform and maintain the recording of transactions to accounts receivable and payable.
Retrieve data from the Departments databases to support the evaluation information, and research needs of the Department.
Prepare periodic financial and statistical statements, reports, and tabulations.
Adhere to the company's or organization's financial policies and procedures
Enter data on computer and produce periodic computer-generated reports.
Provide assistance in the areas of problem definition, test development, research, report writing and data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation.
Classify and record daily receipts and disbursements.
Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities.
Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the director.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports, bank balance reports and other related reports.
Adhere to good safety standards.
Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Communicate effectively with the Department, staff members, administrators and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.
Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement.
Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
Demonstrate support for the Department and its goals and priorities.

Working knowledge of Sheriff's Office Policies and Operations.
### _KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:_
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of bookkeeping/accounting and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
Ability to compile, collect, analyze statistical data / information and prepare reports.
Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data and to prepare reports from such records.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Skills in operating computer hardware and software applications in the execution of job responsibilities. **Technical skills include**: Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions), Goggle Spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Data visualization.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
Must demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, computer software, and other electronic platforms in order to perform the essential functions of the position. ***Skill assessment required***
