In August of 2017, Georgia Power selected Bechtel to complete construction of the two-reactor expansion of a nuclear power plant near Augusta, Georgia. Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 will be the first new units built in the U.S. in the last three decades and are currently the only new units being constructed in the country.

 

At the peak of construction, this vital project will employ up to 5,000 on site.  These positions will include building tradespeople, engineers, field supervisors, construction and project managers, quality assurance professionals, safety professionals, procurement, subcontract specialists and many others.

 

This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays.  All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment.  The ability to obtain/maintain access to the facility is required.

 

SUMMARY

Responsible for gathering and compiling data essential to the administration of (sub)contracts.  Assists with implementation of (sub)contract administration procedures and coordinates or monitors the completion of administrative tasks.  Also monitors areas of (sub)contract performance as assigned.  Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific (sub)contract problems and may provide assistance in claims research.

Supervision Received
  • Reports to and receives operational guidance from a Contracts Lead and the Contracts Manager.

Supervision Exercised
  • May provide operational and/or functional direction to administrative/secretarial personnel as assigned.

Contacts
  • Project personnel who have been assigned (sub)contract management tasks as assigned by the Contracts Lead
  • (Sub)contractor and customer personnel as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
    • Gather and compile support data for the preparation of documents and the administration of (sub)contracts.
    • Assist (Sub)Contract Manager or (Sub)Contract Administrators in completion of the various administrative tasks required by the Contract/Subcontract Management Manual; Standard Work Process Procedures and automated (sub)contract management systems.
    • Monitor areas of (sub)contract performance, as assigned.
    • Conduct investigations and inquiries into specific (sub)contracts problems, as assigned.
    • Organize materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations and training sessions.
    • Assist in the preparation of periodic status reports.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE
    • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
    • Some basic knowledge of contract types, terms and legal requirements.
    • Some basic knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.
    • Experience in analysis of submitted invoices
    • Experience in developing/administering contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.

     

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Related Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related work experience or 9 years of related work experience in lieu of degree.
    • Possess right to work in the US without sponsorship
    • Must be physically capable of conducting work including the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces and lifting up to 60 lbs.
    • Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Acts on own initiative on assigned (sub)contracts of increasing value and complexity.
