The Registered Nurse Extender is a licensed qualified individual with substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills who is trained to perform extended patient care activities or procedures, administer medications and treatments, as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed physician in accordance with departmental competencies. The Registered Nurse Extender is responsible to provide clinical, hospital, and/or research functions for patients within a medical or surgical specialty area in collaboration with the physician.
EDUCATION : Current Florida RN license required.BSN Degree or BSN Enrollment preferred. EXPERIENCE : Two years experience in Nursing or related clinical specialty preferred (ex: regional blocks, post-op epidural and peripheral nerve catheters).
COMPETENCY: JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the nursing process as outlined in departmental competencies. Must demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills. To include training in: Powerchart, Pronet, Internet Explorer, MMIS, JeTech Timekeeping and Microsoft Word. ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Physical requirements as outlined by Employee Health Physical Assessment Form. Must be able to flex hours to meet the demands of the clinical area or take call, if required by the department.
**License or certification**
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency and ACLS.
Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $xxxx.xx, based on a full-time position.
**Hours / Pay period**
48 hours biweekly, Monday-Friday days vary (every 6 th week-end **APS rounds** )
