Requirements
· The ideal candidate for the International Organization for Migration IOM National Migration Health Promotion Coordinator should hold a Master’s degree in health from an accredited academic institution.
· Specialized courses on gender and/or reproductive health a distinct advantage.
· Specialized courses on epidemiology and applied evidence-based methods also an advantage.
· At least two years of relevant professional experience in project implementation of public health projects, including financial management and results-based management.
· Two years’ experience developing projects and mobilizing resources.
· Past programmatic and/or academic experience on migration and health a distinct advantage.
· Programmatic and/or academic experience on gender and women empowerment a distinct advantage.
· Demonstrated experience supervising staff from diverse national, cultural and academic backgrounds.
· Ability to liaise effectively with a wide array of stakeholders including government officials, NGOs and UN agencies.
· Self-confidence and ability to speak in public, including to scientific audiences.
· Top-notch English writing skills and an appreciation for the economy of words.
· Proven ability to take initiative and work independently while also working with and learning from others.
· Commitment to quality and high attention to detail.
· Experience working in Uganda and/or East Africa.
· Languages: Fluency in English. Working knowledge of Ugandan local languages and/or Swahili an advantage.

Responsibilities
· In charge of ensuring the effective implementation and results-based management of all health promotion programmes, including all operational, financial and administrative aspects in coordination with the Resource Management Unit and in line with IOM’s policies, practices and global standards on migration health, donor requirements and scientific standards.
· Supervise IOM staff and consultants working on health promotion programming and assure that IOM standards and ethical code of conduct is respected. Oversee recruitment processes.
· Work closely with senior staff in headquarters and regional offices, participate in alignment of Uganda’s migration health promotion strategies with global migration health goals, regional trends and existing policy frameworks set by relevant African health authorities including the East African Community (EAC).
