We are looking for Veterinary Field Officer II (Livestock specialist)

Bachelor

Full-Time


• University degree in Veterinary Medicine Animal Health/Production or similar professional post-secondary school courses or Diploma (at least one year full time); • At least 4-6 years of experience in a humanitarian area, socio-economic development or livestock related programs, humanitarian law. human rights or similar position • Additional vocational training in a humanitarian area, socio-economic developmerll. humanitarian law. human rights or equivalent field • Expert level in computer skills • Advanced conversational in English and Arabic • Good knowledge of geography and local language of the area formerly known as Unity State • Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning, Communication (ability to express and exchange views and ideas). Analysis & Synthesis; • Knowledge of ICRC mandate. International Humanitarian Law. and of other humanitarian topics: • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively in South Sudan (70% of working time). • Driving License


• He/she will assist the Economic Security Delegate in the design. planning, implementation and monitoring of livestock activities in the area formerly known as Unity State in cooperation with local communities and authorities: • He/she will ensure the mutual understanding of rights and responsibilities on the side of ICRC and external partners in livestock activities; • He/she will work in close collaboration with other ICRC Livestock Field Officers and Economic Security Field Officers: • He/she will prepare and deliver training courses in the field to Community Animal Health Workers as well as treatment and vaccination campaigns; • He/she will actively participate in livestock assessments. preparing questionnaires, interviewing households and having focus group discussions with the livestock owners as well as independently analyze the collected information: • He/she will provide regular and consistent reporting on the activities carried out in the field as well as appropriate internal technical reporting; • He/she will support the Economic Security Department to deepen its understanding of the dynamics of the livestock sector in the area formerly known as Unity State: • He/she will translate for the colleagues when needed and help with communication with interlocutors and beneficiaries in the field; • • He/she follows up all the logistics and administrative procedures related to the implementation of livestock programs .
