Minimum of a Master's Degree in Politics, Political Science, Business Administration or similar
qualification from a recognized institution
A minimum of fifteen years of experience in international development work.
Provide policy-level technical advice, guidance and assistance to the Government of Malawi, NRB and
Development Partners on the NRIS process;
Provide authoritative policy advice on the interlinkage across national and local development strategies,
budget reforms, and targeted laws and regulations which can leverage the NRIS to effect
transformational system changes and ensure a Whole of Government return on investment;
Lead a strategic plan for capacity development designed to deliver significant and sustainable results,
that can link client needs with a process of individual and institutional development;
Oversee the design of objectives, standards, policies and procedures in the administration and
implementation of the NRIS;
Through the UNDP Resident Representative and their Deputies, engage national and international
stakeholders in constructive dialogue on political sensitivities as well as opportunities to advocate for
governance reforms through the enhanced contributions of NRB, achieved through the implementation
of the NRIS;
Provide regular updates on the operations and results of the Project reporting to the project governing
bodies, escalating operational issues and risks on a continuous basis to national counterparts and
international stakeholders;
Develop and produce briefing notes, reports and presentations on relevant issues; and
Represent UNDP at official occasions and meetings, in negotiations, at conventions, seminars, public
hearings and forums, as required and authorized by the UNDP Resident Representative.
