Job Summary

An executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care is looking to recruit a Change Officer to work with the Business Manager, HR Business Partner, People Directorate and Finance leads to manage an internal Directorate change process.

Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Work with the deputy director and business manager to develop a timeline for the change process, including relevant consultation period
  • Support directorate engagement activity, setting up meetings and gathering feedback to inform the final structure
  • Work with the Deputy Director to draft the consultation document and structure, and manage the consultation process
  • Work with the People Directorate to identify where new job descriptions may be required and support the production of new job descriptions.


Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience (E)
  • Postgraduate qualification or experience in public health and/or public health nursing (D)
  • Experience of working in a change role in a change environment (E), preferably supporting HR change process (D)
  • Experience of working under pressure, at a fast pace and prioritising appropriately (E)
  • Understanding operating in a politically sensitive environment (E)
  • Demonstrated experience of managing projects in complex and challenging environments (E)
  • Understanding of the public sector (E)
  • Experience of supporting change process and HR (D)
  • Experience in a private office, secretariat or governance role (D)
  • Able to balance a workload which includes regular and immediate pressures and demands, and development projects to a more extended timescale (D)
  • Experience of working in a public-sector organisation with complex stakeholder interactions (E)


What you'll get in return

This is a part-time, 2.5 - 3 day a week temporary assignment, on-going until March end 2020. The role falls in-scope of IR35, paying £20.73-22.90/hour Premium PAYE or £23.38-25.54/hour Umbrella LTD.
