This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Office of Translational Sciences (OTS), Program Management and Analysis Staff (PMAS), in Silver Spring, Maryland. PMAS provides leadership, guidance and support services to OTS on all aspects of administrative, budget, contracts and facilities management, and provides service and support on human resources, personnel operations services and recruitment activities.
Analyze plans to determine the impact on administrative processes.
Develop recommendations for financial and/or budgetary actions.
Perform procurement and contracting administrative functions for the organization.
Review purchase requests for completeness and appropriateness.
Inform the supervisor of potential controversial findings, issues, or problems with widespread impact.
Conditions of Employment
The position of Administrative Assistant falls under the 0341 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-5, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 12/27/2019. In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record. Minimum Qualifications:
In order to qualify for an Administrative Assistant, GS-5 position, you must meet the following: Have three (3) years of general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Service that includes preparing budget analysis, or performing procurement and budgeting functions or preparing personnel actions and providing administrative support of an organization.
Have a four (4) year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. (You must submit transcripts at time of application submission).
