Requirements
a) Holder of an MSc Degree in Agricultural Entomology or its
equivalent from a recognized University.
b) Seven years' working experience in applied research or pest
management
c) Practical knowledge of survey and research skills, report
wiring, computer literate, analytical skills (statistical),
supervisory skill, self-motivated, tact and diplomacy and
effective communication skills.

Responsibilities
a) Participate effectively in the development and implementation
of the scientific section work programmes in order to manage
and control Red Locusts, African Migratory Locusts and other
migratory pests.
b) Conducts research and surveys, periodically, in order to
generate information for effective management of locusts and
other migratory pests.
c) Monitors and evaluates, regularly, the environmental impact in
the use of pesticides in order to advise on remedial measures.
Develop environmentally sustainable pest management
practices
d) Coordinates, effectively, the activities of the NPPAs and
IRLCO-CSA in order to foster harmony during pest surveys and
control operations.
e) Participates, effectively, in the preparation of annual, quarterly,
monthly and other reports on locust and migratory pest
surveys and . control operations so as to appraise relevant
authorities and other stakeholders on the progress of work
programmes.
f) Supervises, effectively, Field Services Officers and their
operations, as required in order to contribute to the attainment
of the scientific sec;tion's objectives.
g) Performing any other duties as may be assigned.
h) Reports to the Chief Scientist.
