Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences (biology or chemistry), Environmental Management or related field from a recognized University.
At least 7 years of work experience in ESMP·implementation and supervision of civil construction works on large scale infrastructure projects.
Ability to work effectively in a multinational team environment.
Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
Good writing, analytical, presentation, and reporting skills. Excellent ability to prepare reports and documents and comfortably defend them;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Good working knowledge of French and/or local languages (Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda and
Kirundi) will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy in the MS Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Willing to travel within the project area, as the work demands.
The duties of the Environment Compliance Inspectors will be to provide overall inspection on matters pertaining to environmental and soda , compliance and enforcement of sustainability standards and codes. In particular, the appointees will be responsible for supervising and monitoring all
activities of the contractor for compliance with the conditions and provisions as well as actions stated in the approved and disclosed umbrella ESMP for the
project and the respective sub-plans (which will be prepared by the contractor and approved by the OE and PIU).
