1.Minimum 8 -10 years of progressively responsible
 professional work experience in private sector
partnerships or engagement; donor outreach and management; or partnerships administration,
preferably with some at the international level.
2.Strong understanding and/or experience of the UN and related UN structures
3.Experience in Africa and/or good knowledge of African influencers and issues.
4.Strong planning/organizing, and networking/relating skills.
5.Strong communication skills, including writing skills, with strong preference for knowledge and
experience in writing for the UN, private sector, and public sector. 
6.Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second UN and/or local working language of the duty
station an asset.
Work environment: Office based with frequent travel to the field
Travel Required: Up to 40% domestic and International travel
On call: As required
1.Conduct internal review of skills and capacity needs within the Country Office to undertake private
sector engagement.
2.Conduct an external partnership mapping of existing and potential private sector partners using
knowledge and experience in assessment, coupled with a methodology provided by the regional team.
3.Based on the outcomes of the mapping and internal capacity review, subsequently develop with
support from the Regional Private Sector Engagement Manager, a Partnerships Strategy and
Action Plan, covering both Partnerships and Leveraging.
4.Support to the development of a UNICEF Kenya investment case, based on the regional and country
level programmatic priorities.
5.Conduct an assessment and subsequent strategy for implementing a sub­regional East Africa
approach to Partnerships
6.Secure partnerships for the East Africa sub­region which have financial and non­financial elements
7.Specific support to designated countries for technical assistance in engaging with businesses in child
rights, developing partnerships, and establishing internal partnership management systems.
