Required MPH and minimum 2 years' experience in public health research or
programs, preferably in Tanzania
• Demonstrated knowledge of . quantitative and qualitative research
methodologies with full proficiency using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS,
STATA or Epilnfo) and publication of scientific abstracts and manuscripts
• Demonstrated knowledge on provision of HIV and/or SRH interventions to key
populations or adolescents/youth
• Excellent oral/written communication in English
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to provide high quality technical assistance to regional offices.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem skills
• Ability to travel for significant periods of time to intervention regions
• Familiar with Tanzanian context and language; proficiency in Kiswahili
Provide guidance to planning, implementation and monitoring of the designed
KP/AGYW programs to achieve programmatic, financial and administrative
goals and ensure project resources are utilized for the program in line with
applicable ICAP and donor policies and procedures
Monitor and evaluate the uptake of test-and-treat strategies for cohorts of HIV
pos.itive KP and AGYW beneficiaries, including identifying gaps and drop-offs
along the cascade for HIV testing and care and working with regional teams to
identify and implement strategies to minimize drop-offs.
Contribute to planning and coordination by providing technical guidance in the
development of SOPs and submission of protocols where relevant, coordinating
timely implementation of all major activities according to the objectives and
timeline, conducting relevant site visits, supporting M&E related activities to the
projects, and developing reports on program progress and achievements.
Ensure compliance with international and national standards and best practices
for research and program implementation and that all programs are
implemented in accordance with national guidelines and policy, protocol/SOPS,
good clinical practice, and ethical/regulatory requirements
Conduct frequent supervision and monitoring visits to program sites and regions
Provide support to the regional offices to develop annual work plans to achieve
100% of annual key and priority population targets and closely monitor the
implementation of work plans
Participate in national technical working groups
Collaborate with M&E unit to translate data outcomes into programmatic
improvement strategies, and provide data analysis support to monitor
effectiveness of interventions
• Build capacity of the prevention team to review and analyze data and develop
outputs (abstracts, manuscripts, presentations) for dissemination and
participate in the development of analysis plan
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
