Master's or PhD in statistics or related field (social sciences, public health, demography) Five to ten years of work experience in analyzing public health data (routine and research) Ability to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages, including at least two of the following: SPSS, Epi-lnfo, Stata, MS Access Proven experience designing analysis plans and conducting analysis for routine data, formative assessment, evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research Proven expertise in managing IRB processes to e11sure adherence to IRB policies and procedures related to data security procedures Demonstrated strong coordination, teamwork and planning skills with proven ability to function effectively with multiple host-country counterparts in both the public and NGO sectors Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 40% of the time Experience in research and publication in peer-reviewed journals preferred. Experience and understanding of the US government-funded programs framework Excellent spoken and written English skills, including demonstrated technical writing skills for publication Spoken and written Kiswahili preferred; Tanzania experience preferred. • Develop standard operating procedures for data analysis and document data analysis procedures • Review plans for routine M&E, learning, evaluation and research activities and develop data analysis plans with MER officers/ advisors staff to ensure the best data analysis plan is in place • Together with MER officers/ advisors staff, develop state of the art data visualization techniques to promote the culture of data use in the districts and facilities Develop power and sample size calculations for learning, research and evaluation efforts, including quantitative and qualitative studies • Conduct data analysis to document program characteristics such strength of implementation, fidelity and dose • Prepare dummy tables and other results outputs in design, planning and analysis phases • Write sample and results sections of technical reports, abstracts and manuscripts • Draft key sections of IRB protocols including power calculations, sample size, data analysis plans • Translate statistical concepts used in design and analysis into plain language for program reports and technical discussions • Engage program and other MER staff to discuss key considerations and comparative advantages of alternative designs, statistical tests, power calculations • Ensure adherence to Jhpiego HQ and country level IRB policies and procedures related to data security procedures
