About Company: Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) is a parastatal organization under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The Company generates, transmits, distributes and sells electricity to Tanzania Mainland and sells bulk power to the Zanzibar Electricity Corporation (ZECO) which in turn sells it to the public in islands_ Unguja and Pemba. TANESCO owns most of the electricity generating, transmitting and distributing facilities in Tanzania Mainland, which has an estimated population of 40.2 million people by July 2008 (World Fact Book).
Holder of a bachelor degree
i. Assist to Plan and monitor construction of distribution network in the region/districts to ensure compliance with the approved TAN ESCO Engineering Instructions Manual. ii. Carry out preventive maintenance and repair of the distribution network to avoid technical losses and ensure security, reliability, quality and safety of electric power supply. iii. Forecast the load growth in the region to ensure that distribution system and equipment are not overloaded. iv. Maintain up-to date maps and system drawings showing Medium Voltage and Low Voltage together with substations to ensure proper system database is maintained. v. Design, develop and maintain electrical control system and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. vi. Ensure Safety of staff and equipment at all times and make sure that "Risk assessment" is conducted before carrying out any work as per standing TAN ESCO safety provisions.
