Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following areas: Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business,
Social Sciences, and Humanities and Arts, or related field gained from a recognized
university;
A Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience with at least five (5) years spent at leadership level in
significant organisation (s) with similar complexity as KenGen;
Valid membership to a relevant professional body;
• Excellent leadership competencies including analytical skills, excellent organization and
coordination skill~ and ability to make difficult decisions; and
• Experience working with local and global stakeholders as strategic business partner,
stakeholder and/or shareholder

Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership in line with the corporate business plan and
strategy;
Oversee implementation of corporate plans and strategies based on company business
philosophy, mis,sion, vision and core values;
Manage relationships and maintain business networks with local and global stakeholders,
including Governments, multilateral institutions, and the private sector;
Provide prudent financial management and investment undertakings by ensuring that sound
policies and practices are -adopted for optimal utilization and returns;
• Oversee lean, safe and effective operations of company's generation assets, ensuring
embedment of best operational practices across the business value chain;
Coach, mentor, and develop the executive leadership team to ensure excellent performance
and effective succession planning in the organization; and
Foster a conducive corporate culture that promotes strong ethical practices, good governance
and employee productivity.
