Requirements
At least a Bachelor degree in public health, nursing, community development or another
related discipline; Postgraduate level qualification an advantage.
• Minimum five years’ practical and hands on experience in the promotion of public health,
hygiene and sanitation.
• Familiarity with the rural cultural, social and traditional contexts of Somaliland.
• Ability to be creative and innovative in generating new ideas and putting them into practice.

Responsibilities
• Enhance the capacity of communities in identifying existing gaps on health, hygiene and sanitation.
• According to the Programme document, produce monthly and quarterly activity plans.
• Facilitate the establishment/strengthening of village health, hygiene and sanitation committees.
• Mobilise communities and facilitate the drafting of agreements with communities, including
contribution to possible construction of health centres/MCHs.
• Carry out village health, hygiene and sanitation committee needs assessments and
develop a strategy to improve the effectiveness and sustenance of their activities.
• Support health workers in the MCHs and health facilities to develop a plan to improve
service delivery of the centres.
