About Company: KWTA has specific core functions. Its main function is to co-ordinate and oversees the protection, rehabilitation, conservation,and sustainable management of water towers. The Agency also co-ordinates and oversees the recovery and restoration of forest lands, wetlands and biodiversity hotspots. It has the responsibility of promoting the implementation of livelihood programs in the water towers in accordance with natural resource conservation laws.

(i) Have a Master’s degree from a reputable institution in any of the following fields: Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Economics, Environmental Science or any other relevant field; (ii) Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:- Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Economics, Environmental Science or any other relevant field; (iii) Have at least six years (6) relevant work experience (3) of which must be at a senior management level; (iv) Have demonstrated professional competence, leadership qualities as well as good understanding of Natural Resources sector; (v) Demonstrate understanding of international treaties and conventions on natural resource management; (vi) Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Kenya Water Agency Strategic Plan, the Kenya Vision 2030 and related National development goals; (vii) Demonstrate communication and leadership skills (viii) Have attended a management course lasting not less than four(4) weeks (ix) Have relevant computer applications skills (x) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
(i) Managing research on Water Towers, critical water catchment areas and biodiversity hotspots; (ii) Managing the development of Water Towers status report; (iii) Managing the generation of data on climate change impacts, mitigation, and adaptation measures in the Water Tower; (iv) Managing Water Towers information data platform and dissemination ; (v) Coordinating Water Tower economic valuation; (vi) Implementing policies and legislation in regard to Water Towers Ecosystem Assessment; (vii) Coordinating mainstreaming of environmental assets in the National economy; (viii) Coordinating assessment and monitoring of climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation in the water towers; (ix) Coordinating the generation of information on critical water catchment areas and biodiversity hotspots; (x) Mentoring and coaching officers under him/her.
