Graduate in Science, Public Health, Social Science, Business Administration, or related
field; post graduate degree in a related field; 5 years' experience working in higher education or the research

sector boundaries to deliver successful collaborat ions.
The overall aim of the role is to enhance professional standards in research management by
managing a programme to professionalise research and innovation management in Africa, coordinating
development opportunities and resources, and providing leadership and advice on strengthening research
management. The post holder will be a strong advocate for the importance of research management,
delivering and further developing the professionalisation programme, and influencing the policies and
practice of researchers, institutions, funders, and other stakeholders. Working closely with technical
advisors and in partnership with a counterpart programme in India, this work will contribute to developing
a resilient and innovative research ecosystem within African countries and other LMICS.
