High school certificate is a requirement with five (5) years experience working in Telecommunication engineering or other relevant field. Or Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering or other relevant field with two (2) years experience working in Telecommunication engineering or other relevant field. Technical experience in programming, installing, repairing (trouble shooting) and maintaining UN VHF and HF communications devices -- hand-held, vehicle mounted and facility.
Act as Radio room supervisor under the FSCO Aden, UNDSS. Assisting in ensuring the establishment and maintenance of a functioning Emergency Communications System (ECS) for Aden security region. Assisting in the installation, maintenance and utilization of the common UN communication system, as appropriate. Assisting in developing, implementing and supervising a radio communication monitoring mechanism and conducting routine radio checks, as appropriate. Ensuring radio communication training is provided to drivers, wardens, Security Management Team (SMT) members and others as required. Establishing and maintaining communication links with (ASC), ASMT, Area Security Coordinators, and others in the region and 'safe havens.
