Requirements
Undergraduate degree In political science. international relations or related
field.
Five to seven years ol professional experience in democratic governance
and politics. preferably working directly with political parties. civil society
organizations/NGOs and/or leg1slat1ve bodies and officials.
Experience working 1n East Africa Region and understanding of regional trends
in democratic governance, history and politics.
Demonstrated experience working with USG funded projects.
Demonstrated financial management experience in developing and
administering program budgets.

Responsibilities
Monitors, analyzes and reports on socio/political developments In specific
countries to provide regional and country analysis.
Serves as the official senior IRI representative in country, developing credibility
with and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders.
Participates in the substantive design of ne,·1 programs and fundraising.
Oversees the implementation of all prog{am activities in hne with grant
objectives. donor requirements. and IRI policies and procedures.
Oversees all operations related to the IRI field presence, ensuring comphance
with local laws.
Supervises. hires. develops professionally and evaluates local field staff.
Momtors and approves field office budgets and expenses, in collaboration with
DC program staff and the Regional Project Accountant. and in line with budget
allocations and compliance requirements.
Ensures adherence to program monitoring and evaluation plans.
Actively supports I Rl's communication strategy on projects assigned
Performs other duties as assigned.
