SOAS is looking for a Deputy Chief Operating Officer to lead the development and delivery of a high-quality and distinctive student and academic experience. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/Registrar and working closely with the Pro-Director (Learning & Teaching), the postholder will be responsible for Marketing, Recruitment and Student Admissions; the Academic Registry; and Student and Academic Services including Careers and Student Advice and Wellbeing. They will be responsible for providing cohesion to the student journey, and ensuring consistency of experience across the School. The Deputy Chief Operating Officer will be a member of the Executive Board and will be responsible for contributing to the leadership and strategic development of the School and representing SOAS at the highest levels internally and externally.

Ideal candidates will bring experience of managing within a complex Education environment and of leading, developing and motivating teams, and will demonstrate a thorough understanding of student and academic administration and support services across the complete student lifecycleResilience and a commitment to continuous improvement will be critical. Candidates will have developed and delivered elements of a high-quality student experience, and will bring a track-record of effective engagement with the student body. They will be strong strategists with superb relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to empower others and unite them behind a common vision.
