We are looking to appoint a Graduate Academic Assistant in Fine Art to join the Visual Arts Department at Middlesex University working 21.3 hours per week.

Our four degree pathways (BA Fine Art, BA Fine Art Social Practice, BA Fine Art Multimedia, and BA Fine Art Critical Practice) embrace fine art as an open discipline constructed from many different studio practices and a critical involvement with ideas, culture and society. BA and MA students explore a range of artistic practices (including installation, performance, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital arts, film and video) through making, research and critique. Fine Art at Middlesex has a very well established and dynamic history. Our courses are taught by practicing artists, curators and theorists who are leading in the field, our alumni have been successful internationally both as artists and as professionals active within the creative industries.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  •     A 2:1 or 1st class degree in Fine Art   
  •     Experience of supporting the practical and technical set up of exhibitions including video/digital set up 
  •     A good understanding of relevant social media platforms 
  •     Practical experience of producing and exhibiting own Fine Art practice 
  •     The ability to work with a diverse range of staff and students and demonstrate a commitment to the University's Equality and Diversity Policy
