St. Lawrence University occupies the premise of one of the five St. Lawrence Schools and College, Kabaka’s Lake Campus. It is on Kibuga Block 8/1126 and 8/1127, in Mengo, Rubaga Division, Kampala City. St. Lawrence University was launched by the President of the Republic of Uganda. His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, on 14th October, 2006.
Once you have enrolled on a course you are formally a student of SLAU and will be able to access a number of the University facilities.
As a student on an accredited course you will get an identification (ID) card. You will need your ID card to borrow books from University library.
To get an ID card you will need to take your receipt of payment or letter of confirmation for your course to the SLAU Library. Your photograph will be taken and an ID card produced for you.

Whilst you are studying you will have access to use the University Library and be able to set up an account to use the E-Library and the Library System.
You will need an ID card to borrow resources from the University library. students are eligible to borrow four books at any one time. You have access to borrow books, magazines, journals, CDs, DVDs and collections held on microfilm and microfiche.
The library catalogue is available online and you can search for resources from libraries across the University. You can also use terminals located in all the library to search the University library catalogue. You can also check your library account and make reservations online.
The SLAU Library also runs skills workshops which you are welcome to attend to help you make the most out of the service.
As a student on course you will be given a computer account. When you log onto the University system with this account, which can be done on campus or at home, you will have access to a whole range applications and software, including:
The IT Service Desk offers 24 hour IT support, seven days a week. They are available to answer calls, deal with emails and provide support between 09:00 and 17:00. Outside of these times, you will still be able to receive basic assistance and support for IT queries by telephone.
You can also attend the IT Clinic between 10:00 and 15:00, Monday to Friday in the Students’ Union.
